Oval Rossette
Purpose
These were submitted to me from John Henderson. I have not tried printing them.
Key Note: When importing 3D CAD files into a slicer, it is recommended to use a STP or STEP file type. Some have reported that STL files are typically not configured for printing very fine resolution on 3D printers as needed for rosettes.
Use this parameterised Fusion 360 project fil to create an oval rosette. The idea is that you can specify the peak outside diameter (OD) and how far "in" the minimum diameter is. The STL example below has a deviation of 1.5 inches from lowest point to a peak 7" from the centre. Ovals are a bit loosely defined, unlike an elipse which is mathematically defined; this file creates an oval with two planes of symmetry (unlike an egg which is an oval with just one plane of symmetry)
Designed by Kevin Hazeldine for the MDF Rose Engine.
