Barrel Chuck
Purpose

This is a barrel chuck which provides a very light weight option for work-holding.

A sectional view of the chuck is shown to the left to demonstrate the shape of the fingers.
The work-holding size is 2.5".
The chuck is threaded for a 1"-8 spindle. You will probably need to run a 1"-8 tap thru the threaded area as 3D printing does not print those things perfectly. McMaster-Carr's p/n for this is 2521A581. These are available from Amazon for significantly less money, and as it is only plastic being tapped, they should work acceptably.
A hose clamp such as McMaster-Carr's p/n 5407K22 is also needed.

John Henderson submitted this Fusion 360 design, noting: The barrel chuck, adjusting the base dimension scales the rest of the chuck. Walking that base dimension until the opening is a needed size. The recess can be removed but I added it to hold a round puck.
